Google is testing a repositioning of shortcuts for points of interest in Maps (APK download)

Changes are coming to the blue dot location on the map.

Summer is almost here and with it may soon open the doors of the most desired holiday for many of you. Never before (with the arrival of roaming like at home in the EU ), Google Maps is going to be the most faithful companion of your upcoming trips. However Google is testing seems some changes to the interface of the app graphics for Android, which would appear to coincide with version 9.57.0 beta. In fact, some of them should be activated server side, because it is already available in the stable branch of the app. Let's see the next novelty. Shortcuts for points of interest For some time, Google Maps introduced in the secure alternatives (represented by circular red icons ) just below the address search bar, to allow users to quickly look up a few points of interest divided into categories. Just the positioning of those cuts was a cute factor because of it intuitive and easy to select. Well, it seems that Google wants to change this aspect. As you can see from the comparison below in the gallery, the shortcuts are miss from their initial location, to reappear only in navigation mode Maps, moreover positioned on the bottom of the screen. However, Google wanted to provide an alternative to red icons, represented by the tab of the places of interest place generally in the bottom of the interface but called up (expanding) with a swipe up. The tab contains all the information for better or worse the previous cuts, with a graphic slightly different. Blue icon position on the map The past innovations, as mentioned, is already available (do not know if you already for all) in the stable branch of the app. A further change, not yet stable activated the app but for now spotted only in the beta branch, about the blue dot on the map that is used to indicate its position. Previously plugging blue icon opened a pop-up menu from the bottom, with whom it was possible to interact. For example, to see more points of interest, share with friends its position, save your parking spot for the vehicle, etc. The news that Google is testing does not upset the features of which are indeed substantially the same screen, but it is going to change the appearance. Now the background is solid blue (recovering the positioning icon color) is shown a little circular image of your Google account and the possibilities for interaction have repositioned and (some) flanked by now inevitable circular icons that Google is introducing more or less everywhere lately.
